Why I do this work?
I do this work because, years ago, a student came up to me and said the practices he was taught were the reason he was alive. That moment reinforced exactly why I do what I do. Knowing the training and guidance I provide can truly make a difference for someone is the greatest reward.
Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to meet people from all over the country and build lasting relationships and friendships throughout this industry. The connections, shared experiences, and opportunity to help others continue to drive my passion for this work.
I’ve also been fortunate to travel to all 50 states and more than 70 countries worldwide. I love to travel, explore, meet new people, and continue learning new things wherever I go.
What clients asked me about and why?
I am often asked how I got started in this business. I was working with hazardous materials in aerospace. My father was working with hazardous materials for Tyson foods. We began discussing the gaps in training we had received prior to interacting with these materials. We saw a need for safety and helping others in our respective industries, so we decided to offer a class on ammonia safety in August of 1987 in downtown Tulsa. Since that first class in 1987, we have trained more than 500,000 students across the country and into Canada.
